The annual Union of BC Municipalities convention is a gathering of approximately 2,000 B.C. mayors, councillors and other delegates, where issues of common interest are debated, and resolutions are approved to be sent to the provincial government for consideration.

The convention, which is held in different B.C. cities on a rotating basis each September, is one of the largest in the province and a must attend event for municipal, regional and provincial leaders, as well as the Premier and the Leader of the Official Opposition, who deliver keynote addresses. The gathering is also a must attend event for media, with Victoria’s press gallery reporters and journalists from around the province on-site to cover the week-long convention’s many issues, events, exhibits and announcements.

To ensure reporters are provided with the information, access and communications tools they need to tell their stories, since 2013 UBCM has called on Pace Group to manage all media relations and operate its media centre for this high-profile event.
