Picnic on the Pier

Event:
Picnic on the Pier
Client:
Landmark Premier Properties
Format:
Annual 500-person fundraising dinner on White Rock’s stunning waterfront pier
Goal:
Support Landmark’s Foster Martin development project by creating and delivering an exciting annual community event that demonstrates their commitment to the local community

When our client launched a three-tower luxury condominium project in White Rock, we developed a public relations strategy to introduce the company to the community, build trust in its leadership team and generate support for its project.

Among the many public engagement, media relations and community relations initiatives we enacted was the creation of an annual summertime event that attracts 500 guests to the pier on White Rock’s stunning waterfront for a picnic dinner that serves as a fundraiser for the local Peace Arch Hospital Foundation.

While large-scale, high-density projects can be contentious, especially in tight-knit communities, thanks to initiatives like Picnic on the Pier, Landmark’s Foster Martin has enjoyed considerable support from nearby residents and the municipality. Just as importantly, this unforgettable waterfront gathering has raised more that $200,000 over the years to support the health care needs of White Rock residents.
