The Aboriginal Business and Investment Council (ABIC) was created in 2012 to help develop BC’s Aboriginal communities through strategies that increase First Nations participation in the economy, promote successful investment models between Aboriginals and the private sector, foster economic development in Aboriginal communities, and increase overall investment in the province.

Recognizing that no one understands the economic obstacles encountered by Aboriginal business people better than Aboriginal leaders themselves, the Success Through Sharing Symposium brought together 260 business, corporate and government leaders along with leaders from 50 Aboriginal communities, to highlight and celebrate Aboriginal business success stories with a focus on successful partnership ventures.

Pace Group was called upon to provide a wide range of event management services, which included planning and organizing all aspects of the Symposium. Working under the direction of Haisla First Nation Chief Councillor and ABIC Chair Ellis Ross, we were responsible for event logistics such as site selection and liaison, invitations and rsvp management, food and beverage, design and production of all collateral materials, onsite event coordination program and more.

Pace Group also coordinated a series of four panels which focused on issues such as governance and accessing capital. Among the distinguished First Nations leaders we worked closely with to plan and coordinate the panels were Kim Baird (Tsawwassen First Nation), Derek Orr (McLeod Lake Indian Band), Mike Robertson (Cheslatta Carrier Nation), Lennard Joe (Stuwix Resources) and many more.
